12 slices wheat bread
¾ pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 head of broccoli, cleaned and cut into small pieces
2 cups diced ham
6 slightly beaten eggs
3 ½ cups milk
2 Tablespoons minced onions
¼ teaspoon dry mustard
- Cut out the inside of each slice of bread with cookie cutter. Fit the (outside) scraps of bread in the bottom of 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Add a layer of cheese (keeping some for the top), broccoli, ham and onion over bread.
- Arrange cutouts on top.
- In a separate bowl, combine eggs, milk and mustard, and pour over the top.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 55 minutes.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese over top, bake another 5 minutes.
- Serves 12 Total Time: Overnight + 1 hr. 5 min. Difficulty: Easy
